Default Scotland : three spectators killed after car swerves off track

A Driver ( on SkyNewsHD) has said
the public were to close?

Does Scotland have Proper Health and Safety?

[Three people have been killed and several
more seriously injured after two incidents
where cars collided with spectators at
the Jim Clark rally in Scotland
on Saturday afternoon.
In the most serious accident one of
the cars competing reportedly lost
control and swerved off the road
near Kelso into at least four people
at the event near Coldstream
in the Scottish Borders.
Three were pronounced dead
at the scene and a fourth is in a
critical condition in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.]

Very sad for all involved.

RIP to those who died and best wishes for the injured.

I have been to a lot of these type of events as well as track days and kart days, my OH is an umpire and also a flag marshall at the karts there is plenty of focus on health and safety of both the participants and spectators but sadly some pay no attention.

But Josy
that Driver said the Band was much to close
to the track

A long posted band keeps the public safe

So those health and safety working for Driver Teams
are Guilty

I'm surprised there aren't more accidents at rallies when you see where spectators stand. You can't legislate for foolishness, sadly.

I have personally witnessed people ignore any barriers and move in closer though Arista that's what the point of my post above was..

And also the car lost control that part was an accident...the car was out of control ie not stopping regardless of where the barrier was placed.

Sure
but it was to close
because any car can go wrong
so being more back
is more safe.

I don't think Rally Cars driven at insane speeds and Hump back Bridges are a good combination.

This was an accident waiting to happen.
