Ashleigh was feeling stressed because of the task. If Christopher is her friend, why did he spend all morning trying to wind her up and get a rise out of her? He wasn't laughing was he, so it wasn't like an Ash teasing moment. He knew what he was doing and knew he would get away with it because he is "saint" Christopher. Christopher's game plan is play the victim card and get the sympathy vote and has done it from day 1 to present. Why does he never react to Mark like he did to Ashleigh? Because he knows that the Mark relationship is his main source of revenue when it comes to getting sympathy.

If she was feeling stressed then leave the company of others, also had Christopher 'only' been talking to her then she may have had a bit of justification to respond.

He wasn't though,he was addressing everyone else there too, all she had to do was clear off and leave them to it, no one else seemed bothered at his choice of conversation.
Why should she be treated as anything extra special,by all means she can be feeling miserable but she didn't need to bring all down to her level at that point.

Just clear off until she felt better is all she had to do and more to the point say 'nothing at all' to Christopher.
