What planet are you on? The show is funded by channel 5 who earn money via advertisers. The prize fund comes from the budget.

Do you think they spend the year having a bucket at Children in Need to raise money for the prize?

The advertisers pay for advertising space/slots, they don't dictate where the money goes. Channel 5 then use the money to pay for their shows. That's how TV works. Why do you think we have advert breaks?
