..I can't get this out of my head..just how evil and barbaric it is and his family/loved ones, how they must feel that this was filmed while their son was being executed...

..I mean as a parent would you be able to not watch it either and it's not just that he was killed and how it's how 'gloating' it is as though it was nothing and he was worthless...how could that ever be lived with..I can't even process thoughts of that pain for them....

I mentioned this in the things that irritate you thread yesterday. I forced myself to not watch but I gave in and just watched it.Awful and devastating.


I am glad the video was short. It's not as horrifying as ones i'd seen before where the victim was screaming while his throat was being cut. I can't even imagine what his thoughts were just before the knife touched him but his parents were right, courageous until the end.

Haven't watched it, can't bring myself to. Have seen quite a few hostage beheadings though. Horrifying, not sure I can think of a worse death, it's not even quick like a guillotine

hmm, I haven’t watched it and couldn’t watch it...partly because I’m a mother but also because it was meant to be watched so I can at least deny them that....I did see a still/pic on the news earlier though with a recording of his executioner’s voice which was just seconds or moments before he was executed I believe...and the strange thing is in James’ face I didn’t see any terror at all, it was like a complete acceptance and maybe through the last two years since he’s been a hostage, he was himself brainwashed/convinced that ‘America was evil’ and almost felt this was something that he had to do and almost ‘glad’ to do it..?...like suicide bombers etc..?...I don’t know ..the ‘peace/acceptance’ on his face and lack of emotion just seemed odd and as you said, not the same as someone terrified and screaming with what was about to happen.....
