They are impatient with him quite often, yes, and that isn't nice to watch, but I'm pretty sure that there are plenty more helpful moments too because they can show so little...but they want to make people indignant and FEEL invested emotionally.
I would find it hard to believe that all of the HM's are unhelpful and heartless. The law of averages would just negate that, even if most of them have egos of elephantine proportions, including Gary himself.

But they are all carrying him,he doesn't cook ( would you eat it if he did ?) clean ,and by sounds of it doesn't even clean the loo after himself, I think he is getting off pretty lightly
