I am watching S3E17 right now! Spencer just tried to surprise Toby for her birthday and he broke into her house to get the A key, but she was there and Aria, Hanna and Emily were locked in Aria's basement by Meredith, who was drugging Aria and then Aria burned the diary pages that proved he was with Ali the night she died.
