I imagine he got very upset in the diary room either because he felt everyone in house hated him and/or because he felt the pubic hated him. I know he said he didn't care but remember him upset in the corner after getting booed the night Pricey arrived and he heard the boos for him.

If he went there upset a producer might have just being trying to reassure him that he was a good housemate and thrown him the info about viewing figures being great, and how he was a very talked about housemate. Played into his ego a little bit which would have been easy enough to do.

It could have been the time when he was really angry either, or even both times because he said he tried a few times to leave.
