There is honesty and then there is being plain cruel.

I've had people belittle me because of my age/maturity (or lack of lol) on this very forum, i didn't find it cruel in the slightest and i didn't find it cruel when Katie H said it to Alicia.
IMO telling people a few home truths about their personality (intelligence would fall into that category i assume) is ok. If Alicia was really bothered about being thick, she has options, she could study.

A few home truths i agree are on occasions necessary, but only when the end goal is to do good for that individual. I don't believe this was the case with Hopkins, for me she pointed out these flaws for entertainment purposes only, no more no less.

Perez said something recently that rings true, well i believe so anyway. When someone is vulnerable or lacking confidence for whatever reason, you don't look to break them down even more but you look to build them back up. Hopkins, for me took far too many cheap shots for no good reason at Alicia. But if you disagree then fair enough! lol, i guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

I believe anyone would take offence at being called thick, especially if that very deliberate put down was shared towards you by other interested parties. The word "thick" isn't advice and isn't helpful; its a very deliberate put down that was intentionally used in mockery and in KH case, a very public mockery.

Are you saying that if someone is thick, its their fault because they haven't educated themselves? I'm kind of baffled by the ignorance in your final sentence.
