I agree with your assessment of Perez and his relationship with Hopkins. What I find harder to understand is the public demonization of him. I am not a fan but can't see that he has done anything to warrant the hate, he's annoying but he isn't a bully like James Jordan. He isn't kicking any puppies.(Hopkins is the puppy kicker in the house). The Perez hate seems a little OTT.
