This is just purely made to scare people. No point in anyone in London or the rest of the UK worrying really, you cannot do anything about it and at the end of the day we have outstanding anti-terrorist divisions in the UK who have prevented many major terrorist attacks from happening. The fact that this video has surfaced will mean security will step up in and around London as well as the rest of the UK anyway (if this video is found to be authentic of course).

Yes that's right but remember if they blowed up a shopping mall in Swindon the news abroad would treat it as minor incident.

All those people you see jumping up and down in various countries burning flags etc. after an atrocity have heard of London but not Swindon.

That's why although I agree that security will be non-existent elsewhere so that's the place to bomb London will always be the preferred target.

I tend to look at it this way: you are far more likely to be killed in a road incident (nation wide OR in any given major city) on any day of the year than you are to be killed in a terrorist incident. But, do we sit in crippling fear when we see "Greatest Road Smash Disasters 27" on Channel 5? Do our hands tremble every time we reach for our car doorhandles? No... we know there is risk, but we get on with our day.

It's scary when you think about the ins and outs of it all - bloodthirsty people actively trying to kill - of course it is. But if you remove that element and think of it purely in terms of actual mathematical risk, then we take bigger risks every single day and we don't live in fear of them. Trying our best to view it like that, and to not let it affect our lives in any way, is the only way to combat it. The goal is fear. The goal of terrorists, the goal of many politicians, the goal of every creditor who sends a threatening letter your way... it's all the same thing. Fear = compliance. Don't give it to them, not ever.

We all leave our homes every day with various risk factors that mean we might not come home. Might be hit by a car, might crash our own car, might slip on ice and die of a head injury, might have a brain aneurism or a heart attack... might be killed in a terrorist incident. The last of those is the least likely by far and yet it's the one that has people the most scared.

When "your thing" happens, it happens. That's the only way to live without driving yourself insane with anxiety.

Defence of the Realm is the first duty of the Government, everything else comes later.

So although statistically being knocked over by a car is more likely than being blown up by a terrorist at the moment the Government has to take threats seriously.

If they said no need to worry we don't think anything will happen so we aren't putting any extra security in place and then a shopping centre is blown up there would be uproar.

Taking no notice of real and specific threats would not go down well with the public once an atrocity has occurred.

It's like looking at a horrific slow moving motorway pile up, you can see what's about to happen but have no way of stopping it.

The chatter currently being experienced by our security services must be deafening at present with various terrorist organisations trying to groom home grown or lone wolf cells to take up arms and commit atrocities in our towns and cities.

I really worry now that what has been predicted will come to pass and then we will see the mood change on Forums all across the land, the bleedin heart sympathisers may finally start to wake and realise that this terror has been predicted many many times and now has arrived, and a price is now being paid in the blood of innocent people because as a nation we sleepwalked right into this nightmare.

I hope I am wrong I really do but each day another story of imminent terror of home grown terror plots and now terrorist threats coming from domestic social media sites, make me increasingly fearful that tragedy is not far away.

Saying I told you so when large numbers of families are grieving may be cold hearted and slightly callous BUT I fear that is where this is leading.

Perhaps it will take an atrocity on our streets to finally wake everyone up to this sleeping threat, but why should large numbers of innocent people have to die because we are too indifferent or too stupid to see this gravest of threats right before our very eyes.
