I think leaving definitely is an overreaction, but you don't think "confronting" someone over something so trivial is an overreaction itself? It was just a silly thread that nobody was forced to read.

it was blatant boasting and he started being hostile with me before the argument began as i said something jokingly and he took it the completely wrong way and showed me random text screenies

I missed the thread but can I ask the OP one thing before he goes. Did you like have a map of the world on your bedroom wall and stick pins in the countries of the people you ******. I think that would have been great you could play games with your mates, 5 points a country, 50 for filling in a continent. Could be like the sexual version of playing risk.......
