The National Health Service (NHS) has agreed its largest ever deal to privatize services in an attempt to tackle the increasing backlog of patients awaiting surgery, scans and tests. Critics say the move is undemocratic and threatens care standards.
'The deal, worth up to £780 million, will see 11 private firms perform heart and joint surgery, carry out scans and provide diagnostic tests for patients from mobile medical facilities. NHS Supply Chain secured the deal, which marks an increase in the number of mobile units being used for procedures. Local NHS trusts will be able to buy in the services if they are suffering a backlog. However, the move will now allow the health service to rapidly buy in private services, causing concern among supporters of continued public ownership. The Labour Party’s Shadow Health Secretary, Andy Burnham, said the contract showed that “chunks” of the health service were being sold off.' http://rt.com/uk/240029-nhs-privatis...ement-largest/ The conservatives selling anything and everything they can to further demolish infrastructure in the UK prior to the election, how are they allowed to get away with this?

Whatever voters decide as to the election, the one thing for sure is that if voters really are concerned at all for the structure of the NHS to stay as near to its founding principles, then the one party that really cannot be trusted on it is the Conservative party.
I had my doubts as to the Conservatives pledge in 2010, I almost was taken in by David Cameron's blatant lie, when he said no top down re-organisation of the NHS. So never again, no matter what he says in April/May, one thing he cannot be and in my view, shouldn't be, trusted with is the NHS any longer. Last edited by joeysteele; 13-03-2015 at 04:56 PM. |

I've been researching the NHS sell off for the past two years, unfortunately the conservative government are already half way their. UKIP want to go the same way from what I've read.
