It's baffling really. Lack of advertising, lack of interest from the media, the series starting earlier, more competition on TV, BB15 having an adverse effect on the civilian series, this cast not arguing 24/7, not enough old HMs this year... it could be because of any or a combination of those or even other reasons. I doubt any of us could figure out a solid answer though
It is rather strange though how CBB gets over double the viewers. It should have the opposite effect. CBB popular with viewers = people like the style of Big Brother on Channel 5 = more people tune in to the civilian series since they like the way C5 do it |

Id imagine the low ratings are more to do with the fact it started a month early with no promotion, right in the middle of exam season. I bet from Mon-Thur we see a boost because it's half term.

Aside from BB13 and maybe BB14, I've infinitely preferred all of Channel 5's CBB's. I'm not sure why, I've just found them to be much more entertaining.

The producers have just got too lazy. They make it all too easy in there for them so they sit around getting bored hence no storylines which results in them having to create set up scenarios which the viewers can see right through. |

Its pretty simple really. Each celeb that enters BB brings a proportion of their fan base to the show. The same doesn't apply to civilian bb.
For viewers to make the commitment to watch BB, they need to allow people the opportunity to get to know hm's, and for those hm's to be interesting people. Recent BB's have been all to predictable, put that together with an over edited, scripted like highlight show and you get a low audience figure. |
