No it's not, it's his choice to believe to her or not and because he thinks he's already won the show he'll believe it without a second thought.
If he wasn't so arrogant and full of himself he wouldn't have let anything she said go to his head. All she's doing is giving him enough rope to hang himself with, it's his own fault for buying into his own hype.
