People feel differently about dogs because PEOPLE have spent hundreds of years working with dogs and so, for companionship, naming them and humanising them. No other reason and nothing intrinsically "special" about dogs over other mammals.

See... Vegans I can understand. I'd never be one but I get it - they just disagree with killing for food. The morals behind it, whilst they are not mine, are logical. They're loyal until you stop feeding them, then a week later, they eat you. Dogs are evil. In WW3 after all of the farms are destroyed I'm going to set up a little stall selling dog burgers made of strays, and everyone will say "mmmm, Mmm oh TS, you make the best ever dog burgers, what is your secret??" and I will say "I use puppies because they are so soft and tender".
