In fact, I would bet that had the people who were plussing Helen and Aaron managed to get Chloe, Sophie and Rachel out before them, there'd have been quite a few people in here throwing tantrums a lot worse than any of us have...it happened once before and Lucas will remember it

There's a big difference between expressing an opinion on the result / housemates expresing an opinion on other forum members.

Which, as it happens, I don't recall doing (unless joking as you say or provoked into it in a heated debate). Of course, if I did I'll be more than happy to hold my hands up to it, as I have done many times when I've felt I've gone too far in a heated discussion.

Oh, I'll make no secret that I'd have voiced my dissatisfaction if, by some massive travesty, Rachel was eliminated before Helen. I wouldn't have launched into a rant about how the opinions on the forum are appalling and atrocious, though.

And "some massive travesty" isn't a jibe at other people here, it's a reflection on Helen and Rachel alone.

I'm not talking about forum members specifically though, I'm talking about the forums taste as a collective...I don't really see anything wrong with that. Sometimes I think it's good, sometimes I think it's atrocious. As I'm sure we all do.

No I don't think you did any other time other than as a joke (the Stephanie '**** off' gif to all of us plussing Helen earlier would be an example), but tbh most of the times I've said it over the last week or so has been in a jovial manner. I do genuinely think the results have been atrocious, and I do think this forums taste has gone significantly downhill of late, but I don't really care that much. This is just text on a screen after all, it doesn't mean anything or make it any more valid, it's only a game Helen and Aaron won and no one can take that away from them, so I'm not really bothered

But on the other hand, it's deemed as freely acceptable to throw digs at people's taste if they support people who aren't popular on here, over the past few days I have been called all sorts and had my moral compassed judged and torn apart for liking a certain housemate (who I won't name because I cba with the backlash of it) and no-one batted an eyelid, because said housemate is unpopular, so why is it unacceptable and rude for people to just simply state their opinion on the general forum's taste?

It seems to be one rule for the people who like the forum favourites and a completely different rule for those that don't.

Fair enough, I'm always up for good-humoured sparring (like that gif, which I couldn't resist ), I only ever take issue when I take it to be serious. I'm very defensive about my right to hold an opinion on the show without being insulted so when I think I am I tend to kick off. Apologies for any misunderstanding.

Speaking for myself, I didn't bat an eyelid because I didn't see it. I do actually agree with your point though, I experienced very thinly-veiled mockery when I criticised Nikki during BB16.

Everyone has the right to voice their opinion on the show without being insulted for it, regardless of who they like / dislike.

Count yourself lucky it was at least somewhat veiled

.
No worries, and I apologise if anything I say ever comes across as insulting cause I don't intend it to on a personal level I don't think there's anything wrong with insulting each other's tastes in reality show contestants, the only thing I don't like (as Liam pointed out) is when people try and make out that has any kind of impact on your character outside of this forum in your real life. Not only is that a pathetic notion, but it's also really rude. As if what you like to watch on an entertainment gameshow which is totally detached from reality and is a form of escapism bears any reflection on what you're like as a person. What a laughable idea.

It's not often I'm personally offended about something on here but there's been a couple of occasions where people have implied I must be some sort of amoral person when anyone who knows me and has read my posts on here over the years knows that is far from the case, and I've lost respect for (and have been surprised at) the people who have done that.
