His point was that as a gay guy you can't use showmances to your advantage because they never put more than one gay guy in there. He only did it so he could potentially have a showmance with someone like Rachelle to further his game. Honestly, I would do the same if I was in a situation like that.

It's not seeing being gay as a weakness, it's gaming the system (in this case of casting of the show) to the best of your ability
