That's the whole point though, as Ted Heath is no longer with us, anyone can say anything without fear of legal recourse. It could easily be a pack of lies, but it does no harm to investigate it in detail. Its not so long ago that Jimmy Saville was considered some sort of saint. Without the press and others publicising it, none of that would have come out. I still remember the BBC denying it was even possible at the time the story broke. Remember also the MP's expenses scandal and how that was broken by the press too

Allegations of this nature have to be investigated thoroughly, like them or loathe them, that's what the press is for.
