Apparently Austin was questioned in court about whether it dawned on him to ask his mother where all this cash was coming from to pay his debts and he replied that "he didn't think to ask" or words to that effect! That kinda' sums up the sort of self-absorbed wanker he comes across as.

What's his past got to do with it? After all if people are willing to give James, and in the past Jim Davidson a second chance then shouldn't Austin also get a second chance and not have his past brought into it?
