Big Brother has issued the housemates with an unusual Sunday afternoon activity - organising a Sumo Wrestling tournament.
"Wicked!" was Stuart's reaction when Michelle brought a laminate from the Diary Room and explained what was going on. Here are the instructions in full: Housemates, Today Big Brother has provided you with Sumo suits for housemates to stage a Sumo Wrestling tournament. Big Brother would encourage housemates to take care when wrestling and would like to remind you of the ancient rules of Sumo. A mat has been placed in the centre of the garden. Wrestlers must attempt to force their opponent out of the doyo (or wrestling ring) or cause their opponent to touch the mat with anything other than their feet. Housemates are advised to remove their shoes before wrestling and lie on the mat to get into the suits. Big Brother has also provided protective padded pouches for your microphones. In addition, wrestlers must tie the pouch around the waist, rather than over their shoulder to avoid damage. Big Brother will collect the suits later today. And remember, in the words of the ancient Japanese proverb: Nana korobi, ya oki. Big Brother San. official Website |

If you're interested, the proverb, translated into English is: " fall down seven times, rise up eight times"
