Lauren Murray has confirmed that she's left The X Factor house, comparing it to PRISON.

It was reported last week that Lauren had quit the finalists' mansion in North London but she played down claims that it was anything to worry about.

"You are allowed to go home - it's not a prison!" Lauren said at the time. "I've gone home for a few days just to see my family, that's it, and then somehow it got made out into this big, massive [thing].

"Everyone loves a bit of drama, but it's not EastEnders, it's X Factor!"

However, fast forward a week, and now Lauren says the house IS like a prison. Specifically, she's described living there as "Big Brother meets Glee meets prison".

“I found the filming the hardest to deal with,” Lauren told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “The camera is there when you wake up, it’s there when you go to sleep.

"I felt like I could never relax. It’s intense.”

Lauren, who recently opened up about spending years in a psychiatric hospital, revealed how she's had help from the programme's team to cope with life on The X Factor live shows.

“I have had a little bit of counselling because you do become unbalanced with change,” she told the tabloid today. “It’s not just because I’m on antidepressants. I think everyone has little breakdowns.”

Speaking to about Lauren's departure from the house, recent X Factor evictee Monica Michael said that the exit wasn't down to problems with the other contestants.

She explained to DigitalSpy: "Her moving out hasn't really divided the others. I mean, you're put in this bubble where you work with these people, you live with them, you sleep with them, you wake up with them and it just gets too much.

"She wanted to go home. She's there when she needs to be, she stays late, she comes back. There's no divide. She hasn't upset anyone. Everyone's friends, she didn't leave because of any animosity in the house."
