(knowledge tests are as hard as degree course exams, in some cases harder, it takes years to study for) they don't even need to show their fleet insurance to the local council? taxis have to send in their mots, licenses per vehicle, per driver, insurances, log books , they also have to appear before council committees whenever ANY points get added to their drivers licenses. this is also massive cost in terms of money and time.

competition is fine, the app is fine, the fact its NOT a level playing field and they don't have to abide by the same rules and laws as everyone else is an absolute outrage.

They are inspected by someone better than the local government. they are inspected by the local POPULACE. because of the strict rating system. Why is there no rating system for the normal taxi drivers?
