So I was just on another forum and a girl said she's never used toilet paper she just uses her bare hands and water and a few people were like wtf but a few agreed and one said he uses old cloths and washes them and reuses

Well I guess if they use a bidet or a basin of water every time, it wouldn't require toilet paper. In general though I think most people in modern society use toilet paper or moist towelettes

This horrified me more than the bare hands one as I know that is a custom in some cultures.

i've met some people that say they've always wiped back to front. mostly guys. i was dumbstruck. like they reach between their legs instead of reaching around from the back and leaning forward. so bizarre.

I watched a tv show once about extreme money savers and one of the families used rags, then just threw them in a tub at the side of the toilet pan to be washed and re-used.

This is no different to old style nappies though and I think in the past sanitary towels were reusable, It's a bit gross but not as much as using your hand
