MPW sr. gave him a ton of money to see the world....which he wasted booze drugs a prostitutes, maybe the family value independence, maybe he said he didn't want/need anyone there, maybe they were backstage keeping a low profile.
As for his g.f are you surprised she wasn't there? maybe she was and Emma just said that because she didn't want the publicity.
