How The Others twist could be done better
Don't get me wrong, The Others twist was amazing, but we all agreed that it could've been done way better, so here's what I had in mind.
On Launch Night, The Others are revealed the same way they actually were (Charlie is told to remove her mask though ofc) they are provided 24/7 footage of the main house, as well as getting to see each housemate’s launch night VT.
The Others remain a secret throughout week 1, but instead of targeting certain housemates, who in turn must nominate somebody, The Others have complete control of nominations for the week. Throughout the week, they will be asked by BB to nominate somebody. When they do, the housemate’s portrait will go red with no explanation or warning, ala BB15. This will cause confusion and paranoia in the main house, as the housemates try to figure out who is doing this, and eventually suspect each other.
At the first eviction, the existence of The Others is revealed to the main house, they appear on the tv screen in the Other garden. BB explains that it was them that have been nominating, and that their ultimate goal is to steal a place for themselves in the main house. They do not remove their masks, and must remain silent. Their identities are not revealed to the house. Their portraits appear on the wall, however they are still wearing their masks.
After the first evictee’s interview, The Others are told to choose one of them to move to the main house and become a housemate. The chosen Other will then go over to the main Diary Room, where they appear on the tv screen to the housemates, still wearing their mask. They will be asked to remove their mask, revealing their identity to the house. Then, Big Brother will ask them to choose one housemate, out of the remaining nominated housemates, who they wish to send to The Other House. The two of them then basically swap places, and the threat of The Others becomes clear to the housemates.
From Week 2, the two houses will battle for control. Shopping Tasks will take place in both houses at the same time, but as the identities of the original Others must remain a secret, the houses do not meet. Whichever house wins the weekly task will of course receive a luxury shopping budget, but will also be given the power to choose who will lose their housemate status and become an Other each Friday. The main house will nominate each week.
At the end of each eviction show, the winning house can choose who they want to send to The Other House, The Others will also choose one of themselves to become a housemate. To prevent the obvious targeting of former Others by the main house, housemates who have previously been Others cannot be sent back to The Other House (for example: if Hughie becomes a housemate, he cannot be chosen to become an Other later on). Sometimes, the house swap will instead be decided by a task, or public vote.
At the second to last eviction before the final, Big Brother announces that in a week’s time, anyone who remains in The Other House will be evicted. There will be 3 places in the house (and ultimately, the final) to be claimed by The Others, the 3 Others who remain the next Friday will be evicted following a double eviction from the main house. As they were not Housemates, they leave through the diary room door after the live show, and receive no interview.
