I SUPPOSE it’s no surprise that Michelle’s out. My opinion about her swung back and forward all the time. She was annoying at the start, but redeemed herself in the bedsit where she was great viewing and I really admired the way she looked after Emma. At times she’s been hilarious, but then there’s been all the carry-on with Stuart. What’s great is that she caused debate and argument all the way through. During her eviction interview I really laughed when, every time she was asked about the under-the-table incident, she replied, “No comment”. But why on earth did Davina not tell her about Nadia? Whatever the reason, she’ll certainly know by now! They’re threatening that Wednesday’s eviction will be “evil”. I’m intrigued but, judging by the past nine weeks, I can’t see it. If I’ve had one disappointment with this year’s BB it’s been the evil theme. Evil schmeevil! There was so much potential. In BB Africa they had the sin bin. If you didn’t wear your microphone correctly you’d be sent there to shovel sand. The only evil thing has been inflicting Michelle on Stuart! I’ll be watching with interest to see how they get on when he gets out. Nobody thought Helen and Paul from BB2 would last, but they’re still together, and Lee and Sophie got married, so a BB romance certainly is possible. But Stuart and Michelle? I just don’t know. Does she expect to drag him around in a cage? He might be a jungle cat, but jungle cats like to roam free. At this stage last year we also had five left in the house — Steph, Ray, Scott, Jon and me. None of us could really believe we’d got to the final week. I remember saying that on the face of it I had a one in five chance of winning. Last year I was the first Scot to make the final week and this year we have two — Shell and Jason. It’s a case of Scotland the Brave. Shell has been really sweet all the way through. In the diary room she’s been honest, straight-talking and positive about everyone. But going by the crowd reaction to her, I don’t think she’ll win. And Jason doesn’t seem to stand much chance either. From the public response, Nadia has a great chance of winning and she’s now the bookies’ favourite. One of the worst things last week was when she heard someone shouting over the wall that she was a man. Nush experienced something similar last year when a journalist used a megaphone to tell her she’d been dumped by her boyfriend. There’s a chance Dan could win. He’s been pretty constant throughout the show — he seems to have really enjoyed it and has been very sensitive, like when he gave Nadia a cuddle because he sensed how upset she was. Michelle wants Stuart to win, but I can’t see it. Stuart said in the diary room he could already feel the embraces of people he’ll see when he gets out. In the final week nobody wants to leave the house because you’ve been having such a great time, but you do sense your friends and family on the outside just longing to give you a big hug. Last week they all received messages from home which really tugs at the heartstrings. At that late stage I think it was almost too much for some of them. I never really get homesick, and it was the same in Big Brother. I did miss my friends and family but I didn’t dwell on it. To tell you the truth, I dreaded the end. Had Davina told me I’d to go back in for another six weeks I’d have gladly done it. But then, Ray told me that it would do his head in if he had to spend any more time in the house. Jason is counting down the days, which is a shame because he looked like he’d integrated again this week by being shackled to Michelle. Then he told the others, even Dan, he has nothing in common with any of them. In a way, he was only being honest and I think that’s how Scottish folk are. But it must be awful for him being in there and not being part of the fun. At this stage we’re all wondering how much of them we’ll see once BB5 is over. It’s always hard to tell who’s going to stay in the limelight. Jade wasn’t a winner, but she’s been the most successful former housemate so far. And I’m disappointed we’ve not seen more of Scott from last year, who’s a very talented writer. I thought he might have done some comedy writing. I’ve just heard that my agent has signed Michelle. And I’m delighted to hear they’ve also signed Victor! I can’t wait for the final night. People keep pointing out that I’ll no longer be the BB winner. But it’s not like Miss World where you hand over the crown. I’ve simply enjoyed being a fan again. I haven’t been invited to the final by the production team. BB likes to disassociate previous housemates, which I think is wise. It stops the public comparing the show to previous years. But a friend who has tickets has invited me to go. Unfortunately I don’t think I can make it because I’m compering at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival. Whatever happens, nothing’s going to stop me watching on TV! Article from Sunday Post |
