It was obvious he was spilling stuff on purpose. He was deliberately talking about previous events at tribal so Brooke could find out information about it. I think that was the whole point of the "advantage" but if so then it's stupid that she got another advantage on top of it.
Also I really don't know why Brooke didn't choose Conner tbh. It would've meant Vavau have 0 chance of winning a challenge (they already don't anyway lmao) and if Saanapu lost for whatever reason then they could've just got Conner out pre-merge quite easily.
The only logic I can think is that Brooke is so sure Saanapu are gonna win every challenge til merge that she's basically guaranteeing Sue a place in merge and then will be easy to beat in individual challenges/used as a goat, which is pretty smart I guess. But idk if that's why she did
