Default Mens Rights Activists(MRA's)

I saw an interview which i found quite interesting.
Feminist film maker Cassie Jaye was a staunch feminist for years before it became cool on the internet.Even before all her friends who would call her a "lesbian man hater with hairy armpits" and other derogatory terms.
She later delved into making a documentary called 'The Red Pill'.It's a look into the world of mens rights activism. She went into her research from a very feminist angle and with a quite biased outlook on mens activism from the things she'd heard from other feminists.Thinking MRA's are all mysoginistic and perpetuate 'rape culture' etc.She admits she was dismissive to alot of mens issues. When male domestic violence victims spoke to her she was much less compassionate than she would've been with a woman.
The journey of making this film has totally changed her mind on MRA's though.
She's noted that MRA's are not dismissive of womens issues. They accept that they are there and are sympathetic.
However now all her friends are now feminists. When she speaks to them about the issues that men face to try and get them accross to them For instance 1 in 4 men are victims of domestic violence and 78% of suicides are male the feminists are totally dismissive of it and try to make it a competition.
She notes that feminism in 2016 is a belief system kind of like religion.
She also says that you don't have to be a feminist to be for womens rights.
Some people will say things like 'Do you support womens rights?' and if you say yes then they'll say 'well you're a feminist then'.However the dictionary definition of feminism is a totally different beast to modern feminisn.
This film actually got banned from some cinemas because of a feminist backlash.Crazy really.
Here is an interview with the maker.
Thought this would be a good discussion for this place and a different view from a feminist on mens rights activism.
