..hasn't this 'shrinkage' been the thing with lots of products for a while now, not putting prices up but just not getting so much so effectively putting prices up....anyway, I'm sure that I'm not as tall as I used to be so everything shrinks in time.../sign of the times etc...

Yes Ammi, lots of tins have shrunk to , also pet food in little fancy trays with hardly anything in them - they all find a way to bamboozle more cash out of your pocket and hope you won't notice.

Making A Stand At Being Ripped Off

I was moaning about these very things
In the supermarket the other day
When I picked up a packet of Onion Rings,
Then at the till refused to pay

"That will be 59p" the checkout girl said,
With no sense of shame or care.
"What!" Sez I, my face turning red
"You haven't got a prayer"

"It's robbery" Sez I indignantly "Another of your scams".
"What cheek" Sez she,"We're the cheapest store in town"
"Oh yeah" Sez I, "59 p For one fifty grams?"
"That's nearly £2 quid a pound!"

I opened the bag, then held an onion ring aloft
"See" Sez I, "How there's nothing in the middle?"
"What's that prove numb nuts" She scoffed
And I sez "Just that it's a fiddle"

"Get to the point" sez she, popping her chewing gum
"59p would be fair" I sez "If the onion was a whole"
But I ain't paying 29 and a half pence old chum
For seventy five grams worth of holes".

Then when the cops arrived, I knew things were turning bleak
And to cut a long story short - My case comes up next week
