There is no comparison with skilled, educated people emigrating to countries where their skills are in demand to the taking in of masses of people who we know nothing about, many of whom don't speak English, particularly in these difficult political and economical times - no comparison whatsoever. Of course it will happen. We can still get cheap labour at the same time as having control of our borders, we just won't have to let any Tom,dick , Harry or Isis supporter in.

One point of Brexit for many was not just locking the borders and not letting anyone in.But taking in the skills(or lack of) that we need.Just to have control of who we are letting in.If we need doctors and nurses then lets bring them in and let's not discriminate against the rest of the world in favour of Europeans(which is what the inward looking EU does),If we need unskilled labourers then let's bring them in with equal chance for everyone wherever they are from.
The point is that we decide who we need.Eastern European countries with low wages joining the EU one by one and flocking here with us not being able to control it is not what the country needs.That just drives our wages down and keeps many of our own people out of work.

Hopefully it'll be more like Canada and Australia. If you want to live there you have to have some skills to offer, they have to need you.
