Well, if we really wanna get technical, emo music can condone violence.
Example, Hawthorne Heights song lyrics "So cut my wrists and black my eyes" hmmm.

Anyway... I don't even know what my point to this post was...

At the end of the day, if your happy, regardless of the popularity of the thing you follow, does it really matter what other people think?

To want to become something purely to follow a trend is pathetic and not something I have done or ever will do, but should my own individuality get tarnished because some other losers can’t think for themselves?

I think chav's being stereotyped it worse than emo's, not all chavs go around causing gang violence and grafitti all over the place, people should be leaving chavs alone aswell as emo's. It's just not fair how both of those groups get stereotyped.

I dont get why anybody would want to be part of any one particular music "scene". theres good and bad in all kinds of music so why limit yourself to one thing?
Lauren is spot on when she say's indie isnt a style of music, John Peel was a champion of independent record labels and remember how diverse his radio show was. when i were a lad (lol) i used to go out to illegal outdoor raves (castlemorton etc) or dub reggae all nighters (jah shaka, zion train etc) at weekends and see bands at the universities (Blur, happy monday's, ocean colour scene etc) and local pub (neds atomic dustbin/the family cat etc) in the week.
variety is the spice of life.

I think that goths and emos are just targeted more because they tend to be quite peaceful people who don't stir up trouble, making them easy targets for chavs as they are often bullys.
At my school there are 3 different categories of people, there's the chavs, the goth/emo type people, and the people who don't fit into either and are just 'themselves' if you can call it that. There's quite often fights between the chavs and the emo/goth people outside the school enterance, if you want to avoid this then just be in the 'themselves' group lol, thats how I avoided it.

I wouldnt say Im emo, but I have emo friends and stuff. And I like the musik and all that. I think that the bullying of any culture is unacceptable, not just emos. Emos just express themselves more than anyone else. They have their own styles and people bully them because of that. Its disgusting. People bully them because they may be different.

No group/culture should be target/attacked because of what they where, what music they listen to or what they believe.

but people who beat them up are jus as bad tut tut
Sorry but people who beat them up are infinitely worse. I'm not inclined towards the whole 'emo' trend but it's not as though emo kids are the only group of people guilty of following a trend.

I think emo's have violence thrown at them because they are like chavs worst enemies and i hate to be stereotypical but chavs are prone to violence.
