Glaciers are formidable forces of nature that have always scared me because they can be very unpredictable. Our home in France is close to 'Glacier Blanc' (near Pelvoux) but I have never had the desire to venture on to it.
I'm pleased for their family who have waited all these years. The article is a little confusing though, because it sounds like they went to milk their cow on the glacier or had to cross a glacier to get to their cow, which isn't possible. They clearly set out on an adventure that went terribly wrong.
