I think you have them both spot on with your observations of them. Why else would he carry on the charade with her, it's makes no sense otherwise.

I think it was one of the game plays of Paul. He spread the cancer, a couple of the other HM's ran with it, now it's one of the mainstays repeated ad nauseam by Sarah haters.

Both Derek and Helen said that Sarah makes them uncomfortable when she drinks. Would a couple of cans cause that?

Because she has been obviously drunk on several occasions.

The housemates don't get handed single measures, they are given bottles, so there is ample opportunity for Sarah to neck all the booze she wants.
