I played for about an hour when it was pretty new... From what I remember it wasn't the difficulty that put me off, but trying to navigate? Like the mini map didn't work or have any markers and I couldn't find anything. It may well have been patched to fix that though.

I think it's one of those "old school" systems like Baldur's gate though... Where if you make bad character choices you can end up underpowered and it's hard to progress.

My first Baldur's Gate 2 character was an archer that couldn't ****ing hit anything .
