I’ve never seen Chandler’s appeal over some of the others. I love all the friends but I think they’re all better than him besides Ross.

It’s weird because Monica was a relatively normal person at the start of the series but they started making her more of a psycho as the series went on. Same with Ross. Tbf all the characters become more extreme versions of themselves except for Chandler.

Well he's been my favorite because he feels the most down-to-earth in his humour and he works as a commentary to the others while simultaneously being really humorous himself. There's a reason he gets commonly called the 'funny' friend. And like you said the other characters became more extreme whereas he stayed the same, and I think that's his appeal, since his development throughout the show feels more subtle and human. He feels most like a real person to me than the other ones do and I suppose I relate to his tongue-and-cheek cynicism as well.
