I said years ago that Maplin is unsustainable; their prices are 10% - 20% higher than online and their core customers are tech / computer users who are invariably comfortable with online shopping. I've gone into Maplin to browse loads of times, test out the feel of keyboards etc, then literally stood in the shop and ordered it from somewhere else online on my phone .

I used to be a big fan of the catalogue. Maybe they should have moved out of retail and stuck to that, and online shopping.

(Although there are actually better specialised online retailers for computer and tech stuff, I rarely get tech from Amazon.)
