No I think that writer should be based on the script they write and not there gender which can be seen as being diverse.

I think it has to be the 12 or so best writer and the story they wrote who should be involved whether male or female.

Right.... but what about "There's a lot of female writers this series" suggests they haven't picked the best writers/story pitches?

Would you have automatically jumped on the gender if they'd said "We have 8 terrific male writers this year".
