Big Brother contestant Shell Jubin has appeared topless in a national newspaper, saying the pictures are art.

Shell, 23, who stripped off during the television series, posed for Page 3 wearing nothing but a skimpy bikini bottom.

The BB beauty - who has a first class degree in art history from Glasgow University - told the newspaper the cheeky photos would look good hanging in London's posh Tate gallery.

"Those who sneer at Page 3 lack intelligence", she said.

"It's beautifully-shot and tastefully pioneered the celebration of the female form.

"In many ways it emancipated women, letting them exploit their assets, earn cash and keep control. I see it as a modern art form."

Big Brother's Shell Bares All For Paper

Big Brother's Shell has revealed all to become a Page 3 model in The Sun.

The 23-year-old art student frequently shed her threads in the Big Brother house, mowing the lawn in the buff and taking part in moonlight streaks.

Now Shell, who has a first class honours degree in art history, has decided that going topless in Britain's biggest selling tabloid is art.

"Those who sneer at Page 3 lack intelligence," she told the paper.

"It's beautifully-shot and tastefully pioneered the celebration of the female form."

She added: "In many ways it emancipated women, letting them exploit their assets, earn cash and keep control.

"I see it as a modern art form."

Shell appears in a pair of briefs and in a second picture wearing a black pair of knickers.

She said: "It's an honour to appear on Page 3. It has been a once in a lifetime opportunity for me."

Could you imagine it up in the Tate Gallery alongside all the famous nude paintings?

As for BB5 venus Shell Jubin saying Page 3 is art, I was in the grubby office of a back street garage yesterday and the place was like the Tate Gallery, though the oily thumbprints spoiled some of the better exhibits.

We've had it all wrong. For years, we thought that page three amounted to little more than the pornographic degradation of women, but it transpires that the Sun stalwart is up there with throwing yourself in front of a horse in terms of female emancipation. The following day, the Sun featured the gay wedding of another Big Brother contestant, Kitten, who confusingly was also a feminist - an "arch-feminist", even - but less sportingly wore all her clothes, which made her look "like a man". But, back to Shell on the politics of page three: "In many ways, it emancipated women, letting them exploit their assets, earn cash and keep control. I see it as a modern art form." By which fuzzy logic, Ms Jubin, you'll also be classing prostitution as a modern art form, will you?
