I just want to say for my own sanity that if the Canada saves wasn't used this week, Ryan would've gone home.

Then Derek, we assume, would've still won HOH and like Kaela would've put Erica. Assuming she didn't win POV, the Canada saves would've saved Erica letting her play another week at least and she'd at least be able to say she was Juror #2 (like she should've been now if there wasn't a Jury decrease )

Then you can go further outside the field of things we know for definite, or can knowledgably assume, and say that this caused Erica to be more determined to win HOH and get one of Daela out to cover her back. And even if she didn't and was out up, she probably could've won POV and continued to the following week (unless there was a backdoored making her Juror #3 - still great).

This is just a classic example of how the producers have given all of the right twists, at all of the wrong times.

They started to have public votes on the US and Canadian version because the gameplay is often very tame for weeks.

If this twist didn’t exist Erica still wouldn’t be the target this week.. Daela wanted Johnny out before Erica (it’s just he had the veto and couldn’t be the renom). Daela wouldn’t put them both up together, she’d have been fine.... she’s been totally screwed over by producers and had a real shot of making it far in this game.

It is interesting to think who would have won each series without the twists

Season 1: Jillian (very little twists and I doubt Suzette staying made any real effect at all to the game as she was gone soon)
Season 2: probably still Jon
Season 3: probably Bruno or Ashleigh (Britneee saving herself made a huge difference for Sarah’s game - although Britneee going in the final 6 may have allowed Sarah to skate by to the finals again, who knows)
Season 4: probably Tim or Cass (Kelsey coming back made a number for the brothers, they’d have been targeted sooner and Kelsey couldn’t win the needed comps at the end)
Season 5: Demetres (Gary would have still gone by backwards week as he was the giant target sadly, and Kevin was saved entirely by a secret veto used on him and he’d be gone - and so it’s likeky Demetres would have won, perhaps Dre)
