No... Just as I said in the other thread about the outdoor set... Whether you like the graphics or not they do little to improve or detract from the quality of the show... I'd rather production focus on fundamentals rather than cosmetics... Whether you want to admit it or not your suggestions so far are insignificant, childish, and trivial...

The aesthetic of the show has a lot to do with the enjoyment and the eye is a nostalgia factor for people who enjoyed it during the C4 era, and because I’m in the industry it interests me as the graphics during a lot of the C5 era have been subpar. I don’t care what Kingston from Canada thinks of my ‘suggestions’ (when it was just a question too lol) I care about what other people who remember and enjoyed the series when it was on c4 feel about it and the rumoured efforts of them bringing it back to standard with the hiring of one of the old producers etc. Don’t like it? Don’t open my damn threads just to be smug and patronising because you add nothing to the conversation.

SHOP are actually the same people who designed the logos at Hello Charlie - they just opened their own brands. I did an interview with them in 2015:
Quote:

I’ve actually been working on the graphics for BB since 2007. Whilst working at Hello Charlie I worked on the titles sequence and ‘kit of parts’ for the show. When the show moved to Five we got asked to design the Eye itself. In 2013 I set up Shop with my design partner Tom Hodgkinson. At that time, Endemol asked us if we’d like to pitch for the next series which we were delighted to do. We won that pitch and have worked on the show ever since.

Rubbish - people get nostalgia for the eye because they associated it with a good series. If it was all about the eye BB4 and BB10 would be ranked amongst the best series.

I will give credit to C5 for maintaining the annual update of the look and indeed increasing it, though I think the latter is probably more about distracting from the shows obvious issues. It is also a double edged sword as you often get a decent package which is then dropped for the next series.

Really though money would be better spent elsewhere and the look of the show could remain relatively consitent across 2-3 years. BB Canada is without doubt the best of the franchise lately and though there are changes to the graphics each year to fit in with the house theme the look has actually been pretty much the same since the first series.

Rude and ignorant. Don't start a thread on a forum if you're not prepared for people to disagree.

Honestly I'd like more CBB7 / CBB21 style eyes. They were two of the very best imo.

I agree... I was unsure of it at first but the BB12 logo was an improvement and a much needed change... That said keeping the cloud motif in subsequent series was just lazy...

Both of these logos were a refreshing change from a design pattern that was becoming a bit dated... I’d be interested to see what they could do if they continued with this style...

CBB21’s eye, just without the eyeliner would be good for 19...

Because there is a belief that the old way (Channel 4 era) is always the best way and that Channel 5 couldn’t possibly ever do anything better than what they’ve been doing... At least according to the OP of this thread anyways...

Not true... In the earlier years of the Channel 5 era design was one of the things I believe Channel 5 did much better than their predecessor... That's not to say I believe they were perfect but it was a refreshing and much needed change from something that had become tired and overused...

It's not actually... I've been around enough to know that when BB was still on Channel 4 there were a significant amount of people that believed the C4 design needed an update... There were also people that liked the change once the show moved to Channel 5... #FACT

Yes. Not many people. And even the people that did didn't last very long. Hence the non existent viewing figures.

Look at you using hashtags. So edgy.

C5 have got a lot better with the logos and such over the last few years. Timebombs was great.

The graphics are nothing though lets be honest. Doesn’t matter how good it looks, if the production of the series is dire (as it has been for a long time) a pretty eye logo isn’t going to keep me interested.

I actually preferred the original Channel 5 eye over all of them especially the 2D version... It was simple but still stylish...

I 100% agree with you that the visual appeal of a series has no impact on a series... A crap series is still crap regardless of what the logo or the house look like just as much as a great series is still great... It's extremely sad that we have a group on that seem to overlook this fact...
