Love Island is basically a Soap Opera that's trying to get aspiring actors work which I have no problems with, I do however think that it shouldn't pretend that it's a Reality TV Show as there isn't really much that's real with Showmance based content.

Also if you're hiring unknowns to play out the roles then most of the actors are gonna be low rent, so Elton John is right that of course alot of these people aren't going to be around in a decades time for example because they've not got enough talent to carry them through for that long.

I think he was asked about what he thinks about "celebrity" and used Love Island as an example of the word not really having much meaning anymore.

Which in itself is kind of sad. Big Brother used to be the go to reference for all things "new zeleb" and reality TV and now it's bottom of the pile.
