And if the Ukrainians had not resisted, would the have been as bas as it has been?

We were taught years ago as children, "The more you resist, the worse it will be for you"

Russian Missiles have now hit Odesa Port

[Russian airstrikes have hit
“critical infrastructure” in the Ukrainian city
of Odesa as evidence of horrific war
crimes in areas around Kyiv where
Russian troops have pulled back
continued to mount.]

I see very little benefit for Putin in this so one has to wonder just how much (little) control he currently has over his forces actions. We already know there are Russian soldiers sat by roadsides chatting to locals, and others deserting and fleeing west, so it stands to reason that on the other side of the "not professional soldiers" coin... There will be some on a mindless rampage. Brings to mind that footage of a rank deliberately crushing a car. In short... I think it's plausible that Russian forces are doing this without orders to do so. That's not an excuse really, not having control of your men is marginally better than order g atrocities but not much really and the outcome is the same.

That said, "Worse Than ISIS" is an utterly ludicrous headline and really quite gross when you look at the number of people maimed or killed by ISIS in the Middle East.

Command lines seem to be extremely shaky and communication terrible... And with such high numbers of troops going in. I think large numbers are going totally off piste to be honest.

what people should be wary of is that now all the russian forces are well away from kyiv, it frees russia up to drop a tactical nuke or similar on kyiv

I just don't see it... it would put Moscow at such serious risk. Vlad has shown a clear intent to continue down the path of plausible deniability. Have you seen the video he addressed to the Aussies? He's still clearly intent on the "NATO are the baddies" narrative, that all the atrocities he's been accused of are Western false-flags... I think a nuke on a Ukrainian city would be very hard to paint with that rhetoric.

I just dont think putin gives a toss. They have lied outright on numerous occasions. It's easy enough for them to fabricate justification if they want to. I just think people should be wary
