Aw it's a shame it is deflating but England were pretty poor they had more than enough chances at that extra time. Had a feeling as soon as we went to penalities that we were out

Good question. Shaw too
The moment I saw Rashford take a penalty knowing how unreliable he is . I knew its not gonna happen Don't blame him though, he'd been on for a minute.

Chellini was their centre back and he was playing in our half for most of the second half. We went far too deep and invited the danger. We should have brought a Grealish or Foden on earlier to give their team something to think about, their defence had it too easy.

Strange the way Southgate uses him. He carries the ball , he gets up field, he wins fouls. The moment I saw us getting behind the ball at the start the 2nd half. We needed Grealish to keep the ball and not let Italy dominate possession. I hated those tactics, but the team did well and will be back

I think that both teams played well in their own way tonight.
Congratulations to Italy, you must be chuffed Vanessa. ![]() And with England it was nice to see us actually trying to do well for a change, Southgate has achieved something that I never thought was possible.

As a Welshman, we just don’t support England in football.
However saying that, that was a great game and my heart goes out to Southgate and the team - to come so close yet so far must be torture. Gareth is a fantastic manager. Well done! Last edited by FaLaLaLand; 11-07-2021 at 10:29 PM. |

The players who allowed Saka to take the 5th penalty are also a disgrace a Young Boy who never taken a penalty was used as a scape goat incase we lost, the more experienced players should have stepped up ahead of him

If he's ever in that situation again, he'll know how bad it feels to miss and be determined to put it right. |

Nothing new, I knew it would go without serious punishment as the Italians love to cheat and foul and get away with stuff

It was dirty, yes. But that’s what you call a professional foul. Most players in that situation would do the same if they knew there was no chance of beating their opponent to the ball, and even more so in the later stages of a cup final.
It’s crap but it is what it is

Gareth Southgate has managed England to their first final in 55 years (54) in a major competition, so i think he should be fine?
