Imane Khelif is a woman since birth


more than enough evidence is that transitioning is illegal in a country like Algeria


Imane is a woman, it is women's boxing, she is perfectly eligible, and if you face her in a match, then well better come prepared, train harder for that match i'd say

…I’m not against Imane, I completely feel for her that this is happening and there is more than one concern and ‘danger’ here…but this is about an Olympic athlete as a primary/immediate thing while the events are in progress… and about the safety of the fighters in terms of there being no ‘advantaged’ competitor…(…I don’t know if she is advantaged…)…but none of this culture war stuff is helpful to her either….

…but you’re just transferring all of the criticism to another woman and another athlete…she’s very much worthy, she wouldn’t be there if she wasn’t worthy as Imane wouldn’t have been…they were both deemed ‘worthy’ by Olympic officials…Angela Carini had four years of training and a few seconds in the ring…how devastating that was for her and she reacted in those moments…(…which she’s apologised for …)…but it was a moment…she’s not ‘the issue’ …if there is any advantaged athlete then this is something that the officials and sport world have to address …but sadly these things are hijacked by ‘agendas’…and the people who get lost in those agendas…?…they’re always the same people with no exceptions…it’s the women who get lost in it all, including in this situation…Imane and Angela and all other women fighters at the Olympics…

The harassment that Imane is getting is wrong, I do agree with you on that.

I feel like we need to be seeing a more calm discussion around trying to solve this particular issue, but it's descended into a tit for tat between the pro and anti-Trans camps against each other.

…no she isn’t, Glenn…and that’s one of the huge problems with misinformation because it all then begins to be hijacked by agenda in a culture war situation and Imane has been a victim of that and also of ‘what a woman should look like’…but for me, the is very layered because there are lots of women in the Olympics and in combat sport…so, as a female…?…my concern obviously is also that there are no ‘advantaged athletes’…and I honestly don’t know whether that applies to Imane or not…

There are some forum members who dont quite get the advantages that Miss Khalif has over her opponents so I've posted what I think is a good example. The fight starts at about 12 minutes in

We now know that Holyfield was juicing before this fight and you can see the clear advantage the steroids have given him. Pretty much from the first round every time the two fighters come together Holyfield is pushing forward and Tyson is going backward. Many times Holyfeild simply pushes Tyson away with force. Thats the advantage of being stronger and more powerful gives you. You are able to push your opponent to where ever you want them to go. And this is Mike Tyson he's fighting not a mug

People say that she's lost so it must be even. No that means she's rubbish and looking at her fight her footwork is poor and she looks a bit of a one trick pony. I have nothing against her I just dont think she's a very good fighter.

I see her next opponent is not happy about fighting her and I can see why. She should not be competing but I think she cant move up a level from what I've seen

IF they were pros then I'd have no issue with any of this but at amateur level - where its about the love of the sport - this is not what I want to see..

hoping for a solid match, i hope Hamoni can also try to enjoy this fight, rather than stressing herself out playing against someone she doesn't like, unlike Carini whom worked really hard to get to Paris, only for her to get punched in the face after less than a minute, you also practice evading your opponent's moves tbh


hopefully Hamoni has come better prepared with a better strategy
