Yeah 2000 in Japan and 2001 for us. It seems very 90's in retrospect, yeah. Came out around the same time as the PS2 too which made it awkward. It's really only PS2 generation and on games that are going to be considered for lists like these.

Twas probably the last great PS1 game, unless your counting Anthology which had IV and V on it.

Masterpiece ahead of it's time. When I played it on the PC way back when it blew me away. Obviously titles like that are mainstream now but back then it was the first game of it's kind I played.

Syphon Filter was great but Metal Gear Solid was simply in another class.

The voice acting made Syphon Filter a comedic joy though. Gabe Logan was so naff.

Have you seen Metal Gear Awesome 1+2, Dezzy? Definitely worth a checkout on YouTube. Plenty of dialogue related in humor.
