What is your definition of trying? Starting for a wee bit then wimping out?
but him stopping caused Mario to WIN the task.

also try going out and buying a roll of Gaffa tape.
then wrap it round your lung area ( I know his shoulders were loose but his lungs were not) and see how much you like it. Its not too good ( yes I have tried it we play with gaffa tape all the time at work altho dont try to stick your kids to the wall with it )

But he did at least try but not for long enough to win the physical task.
To NOT try would have been to not even put youself up for it

can you two task experts tell me how long someone must do a task till he fits into your "thats ok he is now trying time"?

He tried simply by volunteering to try to do it.

He doesn't do phisical very well so gave up when it became very uncomfortable.

i was actually shouting at the telly when Caoimhe and Ife were wrapping the gaffa round his lung area that they had to do his shoulders and crotch to win as he would have difficulty breathing simply cos we have played that sort of game before

oh c'mon Stoney, you can tell a token effort as easily as the rest of us.

Even Ben dosent pretend he tries, in fact he openly declares he dosent and dosent want to.

I know he is hard to defend in this, but lets stay in the area of sensible defendable positions

Ves, I am coming into that task from a position of knowledge. Honest.

I work in theatre and we play games with gaffa tape all the time. It really aint nice to have it taped tightly round your lungs like the girls had.

I have seen ben saying that once a good few weeks ago, apart from under attack from JJ.
What he has said, and all the others have actually done whether they have said so or not, is that he wasn't prepared to try too hard when its a task he knows he has no chance in
the foursome that had the laughing task, lasted about 30 mins or so
them all last night for the tot task
the not talking about noms so losing the luxury budget

did he put anyone else off when he volunteered to try the task.....nope
did he try to do it...yes.
ok not too well, especially if you dont like him, but it cant count as NOT trying at all as JJ claims

JJ's point was that Ben will willingly fail a task at the expense of hot water/food for other HM's, if he doesnt WANT to do it... thats cos Ben is completely selfish.
Their task last night was to be completed then Ben would get his suitcase back..... but cos Ben doesnt do anything for anyone else in the house I think it was good that JJ made a point of failing the task so that Ben would realise what it feels like.... Ben expects people to do things for him but doesnt want to do things for other people.

Ben is a user... he will walk over anyone to get his way.

now thats just total hypocrasy tho aint it.

It would be different if JJ had said so at the start rather than to just not try while lambasting another inmate for what, in JJ's high and mighty opinion, is not trying but all the while saying repeatedly that he, JJ, would NEVER EVER do that himself

But has Ben EVER willingly failed a task that cost the inmates either hot water or food cos I aint seen it
