Yeah, you're right. Any other meat, though, tastes nice.

That's harsh. Vicky is entitled to her beliefs as much as anyone, and to voice them. She hasnt criticised veggies, just given her thoughts. The point of the thread is not to preach or be holier than thou, just a discussion.

No, it isn't. If you don't like meat, fair enough. I completely respect your views. A lot of people, however, do like meat and you can't tell them not to eat meat just because you don't like it. She hasn't criticised vegetarians - she's just offered her view; so what's your problem?

No more disgusting than hating others who don't happen to share your views or your beliefs and being so utterly intolerant of others having an opinion of their own.

I love meat too much to ever even consider it... oh and I hate vegetables, so I'd be pretty hungry!

A very valid point Lee, and I thought hard about making the choice with that as one reason. You wonder if you will still get enough nutrition etc. As I mentioned before though, I love nearly all fruit and veg. And I eat fish, I could never be vegan.

Vegan parents who managed to kill their child due to their vegan belief and ignorance as to how it affected their baby's immune system.

Obviously poorly planned vegan diets lead to death,.as does any similarly poorly planned diet. That couple was ignorant and they deserve the worst punishments available.

I think it's very ignorant that you are using that to try to say that veganism is bad, though. Stereotyping all vegans to be crazy and careless.

Where did I say veganism was bad? If there's any need for the word ignorant to be banded about: I'd respectfully suggest you read what I wrote....carefully, and then come back and show me where I said veganism is bad, or where I stereotyped that all vegans as crazy and careless.

Step for a hint: my comment clearly stated Vegan parents of one child that was killed due to THEIR vegan beliefs.

Intelligent people don't always need things to be blatantly stated. By posting that link you were trying to achieve something, and what was it? Obviously that vegans are fanatical and irresponsible because of their zealousness.

No, not all my family and friends are vegan or vegetarian, but they are all considering it now. I live in a very rural area and there's not many vegan or vegetarian options, but a lot of my friends want to become vegan when they go off to college and have access to vegan options and don't have to answer to their parents.

I should clarify my original post. I don't hate all non vegans, just the ones who don't consider it or who are passionately against it. A lot of people are just ignorant and haven't been exposed to veganism or vegetarianism before, and have just heard negative myths such as it is unhealthy. I don't hate people for ignorance, but if they learn about it and still don't care about animals, then I begin to really detest them.

To those who are criticizing me for attacking people who are against veganism and such, it's not because I'm forcing people to have my views. Actually I am extremely open to people doing whatever they want - I'm pretty much an anarchist. I believe people can do whatever they want as long as they do not intrude upon the rights of others to do as they want and be safe. That pretty much rules out murder, animal abuse, violence, stealing.

Those are my views, and I think if other people shared them, it would be a much better world.

Pretty much makes a mockery of your other posts about you hating people who aren't vegans/vegetarians and who aren't considering becoming such.

How do you figure? I said I hate people who aren't vegan/veg or who aren't considering becoming one, and I just clarified what I mean by that. I don't see how that makes a mockery of it at all

Just listen to yourself. You're the one who called Vicky's views "disgusting". She shared her view and you had a go at her for it. Why should we respect yours if you're gonna be like that?

do you respect racists, murderers, thief's, etc? I don't respect people who eat meat. If people don't respect me, that's fine.

I don't respect people who go around throwing insults about and who hate people for nothing more than the fact others don't share the same view as them.

Glad you're fine with that.

No, I don't respect racists, murderers and thiefs. Those people do not deserve respect. I find it extremely bizzare that you don't like people who eat meat and you're gonna hate 90% of the British population. If, however, you still don't like people who eat meat, fair enough. It's your opinion. I can't tell you what to think. Don't express your hatred, though.

How would you feel if, say, someone who hated all people living in England came on these forums (which, again, is incredibly strange)? You would object to it - because it would piss you off.

Now you know what it's like to be one of us. If you hate meat eaters, all right; but, please, take your negativity somewhere else and stop having a go at people who don't share your views.

Also, you said that it's your view and that we should respect it. Why should we respect your views if you don't respect ours?

You're perfectly entitled to your view but don't take out your negativity on other people. It isn't fair. Simple as.

Omega 3 - fatty acids, is a problem. One of three crucial components being DHA.
  • DHA is a long chain (22 carbon) fatty acid. It is found mostly in fatty fish, in small amounts in eggs, and in very small amounts in seaweed. It is a major component of the gray matter of the brain, and also found in the retina, testis, sperm, and cell membranes. Low levels of DHA have been associated with depression, and high levels and intake are associated with lower rates of heart disease.
Special vegan supplements are recommended, same for B12 vitamin. I'm sure our Vegan friend will confirm.
