That's what the show's producers refer to as the "fish out of water" aspect. It's what causes awkward and uncomfortable and cringeworthy situations, and helps the show see a ratings increase. I doubt they would ever consider getting rid of Americans/other countries for these reasons alone.

Another similar idea that came to mind was half celebs that are known in the US and half UK regardless of nationality on both sides of the pond. After yesterday's travesty though, I think I have changed my mind. Americans only please.
