At the risk of turning this serious for a moment... my husband died last year, and although many of his Army colleages came to the funeral, there were many more who for obvious reasons couldn't attend. Through emails and Skype I know what it would have meant to them to be able to attend the funeral remotely, and join us at the time we were saying goodbye to him. So I think this is an amazing idea, and to be honest I can't think of a reason why it's not been done before.

The people who might think it would be dull looking at people who are sad and crying and looking at a coffin... well, you wouldn't be invited.
