I suppose you're right Lostalex, I probably watch too many scripted TV Shows where it's always the girls that look like they've just come off a modelling shoot have been raped.
Anyway I believe that there should be a clinic for people that have the urge to rape a child but haven't done it yet, I believe they can be saved as they obviously don't want to commit a sex crime, and to make sure that they never get grassed up by any workers the workers punishment would be 15 years in Prison.

Oh i misread your comment, you are talking about people that have those urges but havn't done it yet? I guess i agree with you, but i don't think anyone with those urges is willing to submit themselves to any type of treatment. The stigma would be far to great, and once someone did admit to those urges, what happens if they go out and do it anyway? then the whole program would be discredited and everyone would blame the government for not locking those people up before they did commit the crime. It would just take one person from that program to go out and rape or molest, and then the entire program would be under a firestorm of media criticism "WHY weren't these peadophiles looked up, why did the government not prevent this" etc etc... you can already imagine the Daily Mail headlines...

And I get what your saying but I think some of these people that haven't committed child sex offenses but have the urge to do it need help.

Well there was a guy on 'This Morning' from Canada who has undergone some weird medical treatment to alter his sex drive after he got worried when he started to fantasise about raping and murdering strange women.
Very peculiar story, he bought tools and everything and got some random woman in his car but then didn't kill her after he'd 'humanised' her from being a stranger. Then he sought help before he hurt anyone. Last edited by Marsh.; 18-04-2013 at 08:55 PM. |
